# platform.getStakingAssetID

Retrieve an assetID for a Subnet’s staking asset.

This method will use `140` [Compute Units](/nodeapi/about/billing).

## **Parameters**

* `subnetID` - string - (optional) the subnet whose assetID is requested.

## Returns

* `assetID` - string - (optional) the assetID for a subnets staking asset.
