# platform.issueTx

Issue a transaction to the Platform Chain.

This method will use `20` [Compute Units](/nodeapi/about/billing).

## **Parameters**

* `tx` - string - the byte representation of a transaction.
* `encoding` - string - (optional) the encoding format for the transaction bytes. Can only be hex when a value is provided.

## Returns

* `txID` - string - the transactions id
