# Stellar RPC (formerly Soroban API)

Stellar RPC is the JSON-RPC API for submitting and simulating transactions, reading ledger entries and following events on Stellar. It was previously called Soroban RPC.

Stellar RPC is available on these networks:

* **Pubnet**: the most recent 60 days of history, at `https://mainnet.stellar.validationcloud.io/v1/<YOUR_API_KEY_HERE>`.
* **Testnet**: the most recent 7 days of history, at `https://testnet.stellar.validationcloud.io/v1/<YOUR_API_KEY_HERE>`.
* **Pubnet RPC v2 (Beta)**: full Pubnet history from ledger 2, at `https://pubnet.stellar.validationcloud.io/v1/<YOUR_API_KEY_HERE>`. See [Stellar RPC v2 (Beta)](/nodeapi/stellar/overview#stellar-rpc-v2-beta) for how it differs.

Every method uses `10` [Compute Units](/nodeapi/about/billing).
